Attention social workers, counselors, addiction professionals and anyone else in the helping professions! Marygrove College’s Division of Continuing Education and Career Enhancement and the Department of Social Work announce the Spring 2013 Applied Professional Education Seminars for behavioral health care workers and addiction specialists. These dynamic, highly interactive seminars will address the specific needs of helping professionals, espcially those working with addiction issues. These practical short forums are affordable – only $49 – and convenient. The seminars for Spring 2013 are:
- Friday, March 15, 2013 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. BHC 140 The Recovery Community and Peer Support Services with David Sampson, LMSW, CEO, Mariners Inn (see our previous post on February 7 for more information)
- Friday, April 5, 2013 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. BHC 150 How the Homeless Affect the Non-Homeless (the Rest of Us) with Terrance Oden, LMSW, Counselor Educator, Elmhurst Home Rehabilitation Center
- Friday, April 19, 2013 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. BHC 160 Working with Offenders with Carmelita Samuels, LMSW, Director, Office of Carmelita R. Samuel, MSW
Each half-day seminar will earn 3 CEU hours toward the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) and the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Callaborative (MSWCEC) continuing education requirements. All three seminars will be held in the historic Madame Cadillac building on the beautiful Marygrove College campus. Past participants of the Marygrove seminars (the Behavioral Health Care and the Applied Professioanl Education workshops/seminars) have reported high levels of satisfaction with topics, presenters and affordability.
